First Light

not a christmas artwork but one to celebrate the end of the year.

for me December/Christmas/New year's eve is supposed to be somber with a glimpse of gratefulness. not necessarily full of sorrow but i really believe we all should take the moment to contemplate our life in slience, be honest with ourselves, accept our mistakes that led us to the circumstances that we're in, celebrate our wins and set the course for next year, while being grateful that we are still alive. for me it's not a happy month but an honest one if that makes sense.

for some people this month is really hard and many people because of that very reason plus it's literally the last month of the year before it dies and born again in january.

so don't be too hard on yourself, because we're all in this together.

oh by the way this painting is heavily inspired by Morgan Weistling and Arthur Hacker.
